IncluDE will host an event exploring new perspectives on disaster preparedness. Drawing on the social model of disability, which understands disability not as an individual’s problem but as the result of barriers in society and the environment, this event will provide an opportunity to discuss inclusive approaches to disaster preparedness in higher education. Participants will explore how universities can build disaster response systems that are accessible and inclusive for all, while considering international human rights perspectives and the intersectionality of disability.
