Announcement Regarding the Commencement of the Process for the Selection of the Next President
The term of office of Teruo Fujii, the current President of the University of Tokyo, is due to expire on March 31, 2027. In accordance with Article 8 of the Internal Regulations for the University President Screening & Inspection Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Internal Regulations”), the University has today announced the commencement of the process to select the next President.
The University President Screening & Inspection Committee plans to proceed with the selection process as scheduled below and to select the next President-elect.
As for the selection of candidates recommended by representatives for the first selection stage in accordance with Article 9 of the Internal Regulations, the selection of candidates recommended by the Administrative Council for the first selection stage in accordance with Article 10 of the Internal Regulations, the selection of candidates for the first selection stage in accordance with Article 11 of the Internal Regulations, the announcement of candidates for the second selection stage in accordance with Article 13 of the Internal Regulations, the opinion voting regarding candidates in the second selection stage in accordance with Article 15 of the Internal Regulations, and the selection of the next President-elect in accordance with Article 16 of the Internal Regulations, the University President Screening & Inspection Committee plans to publish the results of each stage on its website.
