The English Discussion Club (EDC) provides a welcoming space where students can practice speaking English, meet new people, and enjoy communicating with others.
Our diverse student facilitators organize a variety of activities based on a different theme each month. Activities include discussions, games, and other interactive activities that give students opportunities to communicate in English in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Why not meet international students and students from different fields, and make new connections at Kashiwa Campus?
You are very welcome to join us even if you are not confident in English!
You do not need to speak English perfectly. Just try expressing your ideas in simple English and enjoy talking with other participants.
EDC has a different theme each month, and a variety of activities are organized each week based on the monthly theme.
Discussions
Share your ideas and opinions in English in small groups
on a variety of topics.
Games & Group Activities
Enjoy communicating in English through games and
interactive group activities.
Videos & Other Activities
Talk about topics inspired by videos and take part in
a variety of activities related to the monthly theme.
Activities vary from month to month and from week to week. Weekly topics and activity details will be shared by email with students registered for the EDC mailing list.

Recommended English Level:
We recommend that participants be able to express their ideas in simple English.
However, if you are interested in communicating in English and would like to
try speaking English, please feel free to join us!
If you would like to participate, please register through the EDC registration form .
Students who register will receive weekly information about the topics and activities by email.
An orientation session for the 2026 Autumn Semester will be held. If you are new to EDC, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the club and experience what EDC is like.
