Signing Ceremony for the Renewal of JFLI Partnership Agreement
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, a signing ceremony was held at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo, to renew the agreement for the Japanese-French Laboratory for Informatics (JFLI). The Graduate School of Information Science and Technology (IST) at the University of Tokyo serves as the primary hub for JFLI.
The ceremony took place ahead of a visit to the institute by French President Emmanuel Macron. It was held in the presence of Philippe Baptiste, French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Space, and Teruo Fujii, President of the University of Tokyo.
During the event, representatives from JFLI participating institutions—the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the National Institute of Informatics (NII), and the IST—gathered to reaffirm their commitment to further promoting research collaboration between Japan and France.
